This beautifully restored space features a bar with custom wallpaper and several tall booths.

“Table Six” is actually a 1920s-era elevator brought in from New York that is enclosed with curtains for extra privacy. There’s also a long, narrow area outside with antique-style couches and heat lamps.

Mixologist Daniel Nelson designed the cocktail list, while food from the small bar menu makes its way over from the kitchen at the adjacent Supperclub at the Vogue Theater. There’s no signage for The Writers Room.... look for the entrance in the parking lot behind Musso & Frank Grill!!

Just Cavalli is located in Parco Sempione, at the foot of the Torre Branca, a tower designed by Giò Ponti as one of the attractions at the Triennale architecture show in the 1930s. At that time, the tower was highly innovative. Today it is considered a true work of art. Just Cavalli is fully justified in standing alongside the Tower. It was created by multi-faceted fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, and it has recently been given a new look in terms of its interior design. The restaurant has a semicircular structure in steel, with walls and ceiling in plate glass, and floors in teak. Inside, colours are principally black, with the animalier-motif cushions that have become a hallmark of the Cavalli style.

Furnishings and mise en place are distinctive and highly sophisticated. The restaurant has a high-tech audio and lighting system, with fibre-optic mini-spotlights. There are lounge and chill-out areas under the canopy outside. In evening hours, the ambience acquires a mellow fascination with its sofas, cushions, torches, candles and chandeliers.

The restaurant is popular with elite and celebrity visitors, who frequent the venue for aperitifs, dinner, and after-dinner drinks and dancing. In summer, the venue can host up to 1,200 people by means of the outdoor area covered by tension-structure canopies, with two outdoor dancefloors, three bars and three privé areas. The restaurant itself is open all year round. It is popular for private events and buffet functions, for which menus can be personalized.

Chef Fabio Francone and his staff create an innovative culinary experience. Some of the menu highlights include, amongst the starters, raw artichokes with parmesan, San Daniele cured ham with fried mozzarella cheese, fried baby squids in a sweet and sour sauce, and an original warm octopus recipe with potatoes.

The principal attraction of the venue is the fact that it provides a sophisticated solution to the whole evening, from aperitifs through to dancing. The volume of the music increases at about 11 p.m., when people take to the dance floor or the lounge areas.

Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamam 1556

Reopened in 2011 after a meticulous restoration, this twin hamam is now offering the most luxurious traditional bath experience in the Old City. Designed by Sinan between 1556 and 1557, it was built just across the road from Aya Sofya by order of Süleyman the Magnificent and named in honour of his wife Hürrem Sultan, commonly known as Roxelana. The building's three-year, US$13 million restoration was closely monitored by heritage authorities and the end result is wonderful, retaining Sinan's austere design but endowing it with an understated modern luxury. There are separate baths for males and females, both with a handsome soğukluk (entrance vestibule) surrounded by wooden change cubicles. Though relatively expensive, treatments are expert and the surrounds are exceptionally clean.
